Fun and enriching gatherings and excursions – meet new friends and connect with old ones

The Sights and Sounds of India

Our very own Nicola Holzberger took a trip to India to attend a wedding of a dear friend in the city of Pune.  She then traveled to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.  Nic presented a delightful talk to Staying Put members on January 31, 2023 that highlighted her trip, the beauty of India, the people, and their culture.

Watch Nic’s full presentation below, recorded in 2 parts.

 A Traditional Indian Wedding

The last three videos show a portion of the Turmeric Ceremony that takes place prior to the actual wedding, then the groom’s processional and the bride’s processional.  You’ll hear the drums and see the beautiful colored garments of the attendees!

Staying Put in New Canaan’s 2022 Annual Meeting

We had a great group of members, donors, volunteers and friends join us for our 2022 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 12.  The event included an informative talk reviewing the accomplishments of the organization this past year as well as what we are looking forward to in the coming year.  Thank you to our featured guest speaker, Marie Allen of the Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging who provided an entertaining presentation on

The Same as it Ever Was?  A Look at Aging.”

Thank you to all who attended this event and to those who support us as we help older adults stay put in New Canaan and provide a resource on healthy aging to our community.
