A TRUE LEGACY

A native New Canaanite, Ruth was the embodiment of Staying Put. A dedicated volunteer and a member since its inception, she wanted to ensure Staying Put would be available for everyone. Ruth knew the significance of having a resource that allowed her to remain in the community that she knew and loved, so she included Staying Put in her will. This example of legacy giving helps us continue to offer services for members, activities that keep seniors engaged and connected, and support when faced with transitions.

A LASTING IMPACT

A beloved teacher for over 20 years in New Canaan, Al had a positive effect on hundreds of New Canaanites. Just as his warmth and respect helped many adolescents, these same qualities made him a wonderful volunteer driver for Staying Put. He made each rider feel valued and interesting. As a teacher he would encourage his students to “Show me the Greatness,” and this became a mantra that permeated his volunteer work with Staying Put as well as the legacy donation he chose to leave to the organization. Al believed in the work of Staying Put and wanted to ensure its ongoing success.
