Members Resource Center
We have an office staffed by Executive Director, Jane Nyce, and trained volunteers whose help is a phone call away. They'll a nswer your questions, and can provide information, counseling, referrals and contacts with other organizations, including home health care agencies. This office is central to our mission and success.
Our Director calls on new members at home to discuss their individual interests and needs and establish a personal relationship. Some members may wish to have regular check-in calls; others may wish to connect with members who share similar interests. We hope many will want to serve as Staying Put volunteers in assisting fellow members. We're seniors helping one another.

Home Repair and Handyman Services
Upon request, Staying Put provides members with the names of at least two qualified, prescreened home service and repair providers
who satisfy our insurance, workers' compensation and performance guarantees. And we follow up with you to ensure your satisfaction with
the work performed.

Transportation
Members' mobility needs are served through Getabout and, where possible, volunteer rides.

Shopping and Errands
Our Director's office coordinates a volunteer program to provide members with shopping assistance as needed, either picking up groceries
and prescriptions and running errands for them or accompanying them as they do so themselves. We also provide rides to medical appointments
and hairdressers.

Outings and Events
In close cooperation with Lapham Community Center, we hold regular get-togethers at Lapham in the late afternoon or early evening.
We also sponsor special trips to museums, concerts and other places of interest suggested by our members. Transportation for these events
is arranged as needed.

Help with Technology
There are numerous excellent computer courses available at Lapham Community Center and the New Canaan Library for beginners as well
as experienced users. Because we believe the ability to use computers is vital to finding information and staying in touch with others,
we provide one-on-one volunteer assistance at home for those who need such help to get started. Similarly, we view cell phones as a safety
tool and will help any member learn how to use one.
Staying Put intends to increase its services in response to member needs and preferences. We follow our members' wishes in searching for creative ways of keeping ourselves healthy, secure, engaged in interesting activities and able to get around town.
Our goal is to help one another enjoy our lives to the fullest. Some possible areas for expansion include restaurant deliveries, at-home personal services, individualized fitness and wellness programs, financial/tax/insurance advice, gardening advice and more.
